Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 oz egg noodles

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms until softened.
  • Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well. Gradually add beef broth, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the beef to the skillet, add Worcestershire sauce, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Lower heat and stir in sour cream. Cook until heated through, but do not boil.
  • Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and toss with the stroganoff mixture.
  • Serve warm and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.

Notes

  • Substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a lighter option.
  • For extra flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika or a splash of white wine.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
