  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp white pepper
  • 1 egg yolk (for sealing)
  • 20-25 wonton wrappers

For the Broth:

  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • ½ tsp white pepper

Instructions

  1. Make the Wonton Filling: In a bowl, mix ground pork, shrimp, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and white pepper until well combined.
  2. Assemble Wontons: Place 1 tsp of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Brush edges with egg yolk, fold into a triangle, and seal. Bring two corners together and pinch to secure. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
  3. Prepare the Broth: In a pot, heat chicken broth, water, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, white pepper, and green onions. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Cook the Wontons: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add wontons and cook for 4-5 minutes until they float. Remove and drain.
  5. Assemble the Soup: Divide wontons into bowls and pour hot broth over them. Garnish with extra green onions and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use store-bought wonton wrappers for convenience.
