12 oz penne pasta
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup vodka
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup crushed tomatoes
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
