  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, cook ground beef with diced onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Layer half the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  • Spread cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  • Add the remaining potato slices on top.
  • In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk. Pour evenly over the casserole.
  • Dot with butter, season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove foil, top with shredded cheddar cheese, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving.
